Merilampi advised Validia Oy in its acquisition of Sauma Lastensuojelupalvelut Oy from Terveystalo. Sauma Lastensuojelupalvelut provides special and demanding level child welfare foster care and family care services. The company's turnover in 2024 was just over EUR 11 million. Its business comprises a total of 13 child welfare units located in the Helsinki metropolitan area, Central Finland, Satakunta, South Savo, Central Ostrobothnia and Pirkanmaa.

The transaction expands Validia's child welfare and family care expertise to include a wide range of foster care services, such as specialised foster care and specialisation in neuropsychiatric support for children and adolescents. The Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority approved the transaction on 22 January 2026.
