About us

Story

Our firm was established in 1992 under the name Merilampi, Marttila & Laitasalo, when a team of talented and esteemed lawyers in one of the leading national law firms decided to open their own practice.

Very soon, the firm became a trusted advisor for many leading Finnish companies, financial institutions and public organizations. It acted as an advisor e.g. in the privatization of many of the government-held or controlled industries and in the consolidation of the banking industry in Finland and the Nordics.

In 2010, a merger with Palotie & Co took place, and operations continued under the name Merilampi Attorneys Ltd.

Another significant step came in 2025, when the firm merged with I&O Partners, a Helsinki-based boutique.

The firm has chosen to focus on long-term client relationships as well as long-term careers for its lawyers, instead of seeking growth in size. We believe that the chosen strategy provides best advice and services for our clients.

In addition to our pro bono efforts, we support different causes each year through donations. Our focus has been on advancing children´s rights and improving their situation both domestically and internationally.
