Merilampi and Associate Kenneth Kraszewski participated in Vis Moot

Merilampi Associate Kenneth Kraszewski participated as an arbitrator in the 23rd Annual Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot. The Vis Moot is a competition for law students aimed at promoting the study of international commercial law and arbitration for resolution of business disputes. Each year, more than 2 000 students and over 900 lawyers, law professionals and other arbitration practitioners from around the world gather in Vienna for the week-long competition.

Kenneth Kraszewski was a member of the University of Helsinki’s team for the 19th Vis Moot and also participated as an arbitrator in 21st and 22nd Vis Moots. One of the main aims of the competition is to bring together students and professionals from common law and civil law legal systems. As a lawyer who received a J.D. in the United States and an LL.M. in Finland, Kenneth is familiar with both systems and enjoys being able to help students with the particularities of each. During the 23rd Vis Moot, Kenneth arbitrated teams from Bahrain, Germany, India and Russia, each of which had a unique and commendable style and analysis of the problem.

For this year’s competition, Merilampi Attorneys Ltd. continued its tradition of organizing a workshop on international arbitration for the Finnish teams from the University of Helsinki, University of Turku and University of Lapland.

Merilampi congratulates the Finnish teams on their great success and moot spirit!
