Merilampi represented Suominen in its acquisition of the entire stock of Ahlstrom’s Brazilian Home and Personal unit. The enterprise value of the transaction was EUR 17.5 million. Suominen financed the deal through a convertible hybrid bond issue.
The plant is located in Paulínia, Brazil. It is the only nonwovens plant in Brazil utilizing modern spunlace technology in manufacturing wiping products. The Paulínia plant was built in 2008, and it employs approximately forty persons. All employees were transferred to Suominen.
Merilampi acted as Suominen Corporation’s legal advisor in the transaction and the financial arrangement.
