Merilampi represented Nordstjernan in Finland in the acquisition of majority shares in Bygghemma Group

Merilampi represented Nordstjernan Investment AB in the acquisition of majority shares in Bygghemma Sverige Intressenter AB. Nordstjernan Investment AB is a Swedish investment company and forms part of the Nordstjernan Group.

Bygghemma is the leading e-commerce home improvement company in the Nordic region, offering a broad range of branded products and approximately 100,000 articles. The company also successfully sells furniture, couches and beds through the e-store Trademax. During recent years, the company has shown strong organic growth, of approximately 50 percent per year, and will have sales of some SEK 1.3 billion this year.

Merilampi assisted Nordstjernan in the implementation of the acquisition in Finland and was responsible for drafting the merger control notification submitted to the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority (FCCA). The FCCA approved the acquisition on 27 November 2014 and the acquisition was completed on 12 December 2014.

At Merilampi, Arttu Mentula, Petra Liesvirta and Katrin Puolakainen were in charge of the competition law filing to the FCCA, and Ari Keinänen and Veli Siitonen of the implementation of the transaction in Finland.
